Biography
Meet Dr. Robert J. Rowen — the groundbreaking M.D. who’s trained over 400 doctors… cured over 5,000 patients…and helped pass the nation’s first medical freedom law
Now he has a new mission: to make sure YOU never become one of his patients!
To the doctors he’s trained and the patients he’s cured, Dr. Robert Rowen is known as something of a miracle worker. Indeed, Dr. Rowen receives over a dozen calls and emails a week from fellow physicians, seeking advice on how to cure their most challenging cases. Sometimes, the doctors fly their patients across the country to have Dr. Rowen examine and treat them.
Many of these patients suffer from deadly diseases like cancer…or from stubborn ailments like diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease that have plagued them for years. Yet over half of them leave Dr. Rowen’s care symptom-free. And many leave completely cured! This includes even the toughest cases other doctors give up on!
As it turns out, Dr. Rowen has considerably more experience practicing alternative medicine than just about any of his peers. He spent 22 years practicing in Alaska, the first state to provide statutory protection to alternative physicians.
Since Dr. Rowen was protected by law, he could use all kinds of treatments doctors in other states couldn’t use at the time. So he got at least a 5-year start on everyone else.
But Dr. Rowen wasn’t just a beneficiary of Alaska’s Medical Freedom Law. He actually helped draft the bill…and was instrumental in getting it passed.
During hearings, he incurred the wrath of the state’s organized medical community, who threatened to revoke his license. They even flew in a famous “quackbuster” to debate Dr. Rowen and try to embarrass him.
When it was all over, Dr. Rowen was still practicing…the bill had passed…and Governor Hickel had appointed him to the State Medical Board.

Malcolm Sickels MD
Malcolm Sickels, MD P.C.
Biography
I entered medical school later in life than most medical students. I had spent time after college out in the real world: working with kids, working in a bookstore, managing a natural foods department. While working in natural foods, I heard many people say they were dissatisfied with their doctors, but I realized that the problem more often than not was miscommunication. I had been contemplating going to medical school, and this realization helped that decision gel. I resolved that rather than complain from the outside, I would become a doctor and see if there was a different way to practice that would allow me to spend the time I needed to communicate with patients and find the best way to keep them healthy. In order to keep people healthy, I knew they would need more than just medications, more than what is taught in medical school. Health is not just the absence of disease, but maximizing and retaining the function we have. | |

Dr. John Young
Young Foundational Health Center
Biography
Practice Summary/About the Practice:
At Young Foundational Health Center, we work from the foundation up. Instead of repairing the “cracks in the wall” or merely treating the symptoms, we aim at the root of the problem. By targeting the cell membrane and the immune system, we improve the overall health of the patient.
Medical researchers worldwide agree that our ability to achieve optimal health begins and ends with our cellular foundation. To that end, Dr. John Young, M.D. and Young Foundational Health Center have incorporated the latest biochemical, physiological, nutraceutical technologies and protocols into a program designed to address the causes of many chronic illnesses. Building on the work of giants in the medical field such as Kauffman, Klenner and Meyers, and research conducted at Yale, Stanford, Duke and Johns Hopkins Universities, Dr. Young has combined this early work with current understanding and Nobel Prize winning research to develop a system of the best known strategies for achieving proper cellular health and function. The result is a science-based, reliable and effective way to approach chronic conditions. This combined with preventative therapies and nutritional education, provides patients with systemic, effective protocols for achieving the promotion and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. Our methods promote the development of a healthy and properly functioning immune system.
Dr. Young and Young Foundational Health Center can consult with you on the health needs of you and your family, review your medical history and develop a plan focusing on your natural, nutritional needs, enabling your body to be restored and operate at peak performance.

Biography
I grew up in a suburban city just outside of Detroit and graduated from University of Detroit Mercy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. From there, I went to work in various industries including pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, and paint research and development. It was during this time that I developed health complications that were not responding to conventional methods of treatment. I innately knew there was more to health and treatment of illness. I eventually learned of a type of doctor that practiced with the mindset of treating the whole person and not just the illness. I felt immediately drawn to this type of career, quit my job, and moved to Arizona to attend Naturopathic medical school.
I graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2010 and practiced in an underserved community clinic for two years, before moving to Folsom, California and practicing there for almost 6 years. During this time, I attended multiple training conferences each year to learn and stay up-to-date on the best methods to support patients undergoing treatments for cancer diagnoses. I believe in treating the whole person, educating and motivating the patient to make the best lifestyle modifications to enhance their success.
I live in an almost century old home with my new husband and three crazy lovable feline monsters. My hobbies include reading for both learning or enjoyment (I enjoy a good detective mystery), watching my husband cook (then eating the food), making friends laugh, and skating with or officiating the Sacramento Roller Derby. My goals include obtaining a Fellowship of Integrative Cancer Therapies from the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and becoming a motivational speaker in my spare time.
