2012 Conference Wrap Up
Thank you to all who attended our Tenth Annual International IPT/IPTLD Integrative Cancer Conference held April 27-29, 2012 at the Hilton Southlake Town Square in Dallas, Texas, USA. Once again, the event was sold out.
The conference was sponsored and managed by Best Answer for Cancer Foundation, in support of the International Organization of Integrative Cancer Physicians (IOICP). Our local host this year was Medical Advisory Board Member Gus Kotsanis, MD, and the Kotsanis Institute. This beautiful 8000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility hosted our Introductory Training Class as well as an Open House Reception.
We increased our attendance from 139 last year to 198, and almost 50 of those attendees were members of the general public. The response was again overwhelmingly positive. We are also pleased to announce we had 23 new trainees from around the world.
For the second year in a row, we featured all organic food and alkaline water. This year, we added purified air in the meeting spaces to the equation. To our knowledge, we are the only conference to offer our attendees this kind of healthy environment to support members’ approach to healing and knowledge of environmental medicine.

We had several members of the press attend our meeting this year. The buzz is that we are the premiere organization for Integrative Cancer Care! The conference was reported on in three separate radio broadcasts. Thanks to Mary Budinger, award-winning journalist, we will again be written up in the Townsend Letter in this year’s August/September issue. She is also preparing a two-part article for Explore! magazine.

A big round of applause goes out to Dr. Sean Devlin who again cleared off his calendar and made time to deliver the first 12 hours of training that comprise the Introductory IPT Class. He had special assistance from Dr. Dalal Akoury. Another huge ‘thank you’ to Dr. Gus Kotsanis and the entire staff at the Kotsanis Institute for their grace and generosity as hosts. They pampered the trainees with excellent food and beverage during the class. The staff shared many of their policies and procedures, and the trainees observed live IPT treatments.
We also owe a big round of thanks to our 31 exhibitors and many sponsors. Our exhibitors and sponsors are:
Our vendors and sponsors demonstrated a wide and diverse array of “tools” for the integrative approach to cancer care and gave us the opportunity to become more familiar with them. Many offered post-conference special pricing so be sure to contact them at the links above.
We are still sifting through the many suggestions offered during and after the conference. Thank you for your well thought out ideas. We will be following up.
We had a fantastic audience, and the presentations were excellent. I look forward to working with everyone to bring the awareness of integrated cancer care to ever higher levels.
Together we can help break the silence and spread the word to make sure everyone who wants to resolve their cancer has the help and support they need to thrive.
